COMMUNITY SUPPORT

Resources & Opportunities

Waypoint Project connects young people with the knowledge, experiences, and resources that empower them to make informed choices about their future. Through mental and physical wellness education, hands-on learning opportunities, exposure to new experiences, and access to community resources, we help young people better understand themselves, discover new possibilities, and develop the confidence to navigate their own path forward.

Volunteer Opportunities

Every young person benefits from having people in their corner who are willing to invest in who they can become. At Waypoint, we bring together individuals and organizations who want to make a meaningful difference by sharing their time, talents, knowledge, and resources. Volunteers can serve in many ways—from mentoring and teaching to supporting programs, sharing professional experiences, creating connections, or simply being a positive and consistent presence. Whatever you have to offer, there is an opportunity to help inspire confidence, encourage personal growth, and show young people that their future can be bigger than what they see today.

Educational Programs

Education is more than a class, workshop, or single experience—it is an opportunity for continued discovery and growth. We expose young people to hands-on learning, real-world experiences, and opportunities shaped by their individual interests, giving them the freedom to explore what inspires them and discover where their strengths may lead. But our commitment does not end when the experience is over. Through ongoing mentorship, personal check-ins, reflection, and peer collaboration, we help young people build on what they have learned, recognize how they are growing, and identify what they want to explore next. Each opportunity becomes a starting point for the next—creating an ongoing journey of learning, confidence, self-discovery, and personal development.

Advocacy & Awareness

It's Waypoints belief that every young person deserves to feel connected—to themselves, to supportive people, and to opportunities that can help shape their future. The challenges young people face are not limited to any one community or circumstance. Young people across all communities are navigating increasing social isolation, the pressures and influence of social media, uncertainty about their future, and a lack of meaningful direction and connection. Waypoint advocates for greater awareness of these challenges while working to strengthen the networks surrounding young people. By bringing together families, mentors, educators, professionals, organizations, and community partners, we seek to create environments where young people are heard, supported, informed, and encouraged to explore who they are and who they can become. Advocacy, to us, means more than raising awareness—it means helping turn awareness into connection, connection into opportunity, and opportunity into lasting growth.

Building Strong Young Minds is the Start to Building Stronger Communities

Strong communities begin with young people who believe in themselves, understand their potential, and feel connected to the world around them. When we invest in a young person’s mental and physical well-being, education, confidence, relationships, and sense of purpose, that investment extends far beyond the individual. It influences how they approach challenges, build relationships, make decisions, pursue opportunities, and eventually contribute to their families and communities. At Waypoint Project, we believe strengthening a community starts long before adulthood. It starts by giving young people the guidance, experiences, mentorship, and support they need to discover who they are and recognize who they can become. When young minds are given the opportunity to grow, communities grow stronger with them.

Turning Adversity Into Opportunity

Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) can influence how young people see themselves, build relationships, respond to challenges, and imagine their future. At Waypoint Project, we believe Positive Childhood Experiences (PCEs) can help strengthen the relationships, sense of belonging, confidence, and opportunities young people need to grow beyond adversity. Through education, consistent mentorship, supportive peer connections, exposure to new experiences, and future-building guidance, Waypoint creates opportunities for young people to feel valued, supported, capable, and connected. Our programs are designed not simply to provide a single positive experience, but to build ongoing relationships that encourage young people to discover their strengths, develop meaningful goals, and recognize possibilities for their future. We cannot change what a young person may have experienced, but we can help create positive experiences today that strengthen the foundation for who they can become tomorrow.
